Privacy Policy
Effective September 4, 2026
This policy explains what information Omego.tv collects, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal fog.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following, and only what we need to run the service:
- Account details — such as the identifier you sign in with and basic profile information you choose to provide.
- Usage and device data — pages viewed, features used, approximate location derived from your IP address, and standard device/browser information, so we can keep the app working and safe.
- Conversation activity — metadata like who you connected with and when. We do not monitor or store your conversations in order to read them; limited records may still be generated for safety and moderation (see "Your conversations" below).
- Payment information — if you buy credits, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of a transaction, not your full card details.
2. How we use your information
To provide and maintain the service, connect you with hosts, process purchases, keep the platform safe and respectful, respond to support requests, and understand how the product is used so we can improve it.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure how the site is used. We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that collect aggregate usage information. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
4. Your conversations
A live video chat or message thread on Omego is private to the people taking part. We do not publish your conversations, show them to an audience, or sell them.
To keep the platform safe we may process limited metadata, review content that has been reported to us, and — where the law or a credible safety concern requires it — generate and retain a limited record of activity in a session, such as a still image. Anything captured this way is used for safety, moderation and legal compliance only, is kept no longer than needed for that purpose, and is never published.
5. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, analytics, payment processing), under agreements that limit their use of it.
- Legal and safety recipients, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect users.
6. Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When it is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or de-identify it.
7. Your choices and your rights
You can update your profile information at any time and control cookies through your browser settings. Depending on where you live, you also have rights over the information we hold about you. Wherever you are, we apply the following on request:
- Access — ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix information that is wrong or out of date.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your account and the personal information tied to it.
- Objection and restriction — ask us to stop or limit a particular use of your information.
- Portability — ask for a copy of the information you gave us, in a common format.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, you can take it back; this does not affect what we did before.
To use any of these, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We may need to check it is really you before we act. We do not charge for this, and we do not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the EU or UK and you think we have handled your information badly, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in California, note that we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
8. Where your information is processed
Omego is used from many countries, and the services we rely on — hosting, content delivery, analytics and payment processing — operate internationally. That means your information may be processed in a country other than the one you live in, including countries whose data protection laws differ from your own. Where we transfer information across borders we take steps to keep it protected to the standard described in this policy.
9. Age
Omego is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has used the service, please contact us so we can act.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated through the service where appropriate.
